Removal of two duty/standby extract fans weighing in excess of 500kg with a like-for-like replacement inside a ‘live’ plant room.

Works Included

The fans were located inside a ‘durasteel’ enclosure.
Once opened the fans were removed using two forklift
trucks at opposite ends. The fans were lowered from a
height of 5 metres to ground level and separated.
Replacement fans were assembled at ground level and
raised into place using forklift trucks and secured in
position on steel channels.
Quadrant Building Services provided a turnkey solution, supplied all materials, tools and specialist lifting
equipment before re-commissioning the extract system
on completion.
The works were completed over 2 weekends and
delivered on time and within budget with no downtime
to our client’s ‘business as usual’ operations.
